The Division of Student Affairs is guided by this motto. The Student Affairs staff believes that it can best serve UCSB students by providing support and development opportunities that yield well-rounded alumni who are accomplished scholars, competent leaders and active citizens.

Thus, programs hosted by Leadership Development intentionally focus on the development of the whole individual:

Leadership Development's Role

Leadership Development offers practical skills and experiences to put UCSB students' world-class education into action in order to effect positive change locally, nationally and globally.

Mission Statement

We are committed to teaching leaders how to organize efficient and effective action toward a goal. We assist leaders to identify their short- and long-term leadership objectives with the philosophy that a leader will also be most effective when she/he is cognizant of and committed to her/his unique set of values and interests.
